Wisconsin Chapter Holiday Party Blue Bag Program Food Drive
As part of its annual Holiday Party, the SCI Wisconsin Chapter held a food drive as part of its continuing efforts to promote the SCI Foundation’s “Blue Bag” Humanitarian Aid program.
This year we received 421 food and hygiene items plus $41 cash that was donated to the Veteran’s Outreach of Wisconsin food pantry. In the attached photo, SCI Wisconsin Chapter Board member Jeff Haigh (right) presented a truck load of goods to Veteran’s Outreach representative, Tom Pieske. Currently, Veteran’s Outreach of Wisconsin distributes 5,000 pounds of food on a monthly basis as well as donated clothing and furniture to Veterans in need.
Part of the SCI mission is to “give back by participating in humanitarian efforts taking place across the globe through the affiliated charitable organization, Safari Club International Foundation”. The “Blue Bag” program is one of those programs available to advance this part of the SCI Mission!
On your next hunting trip, please consider working with your Outfitter to identify needs within the community you will be visiting and utilize the SCI Foundation Blue Bags to provide for those needs. These needs are often nutritional, educational, medical, hygienic, clothing, footwear and could include gifts such as soccer balls and treats.
We encourage you to visit the www.sciwi.org website and watch the video about the program and if you would like to learn more about the program or if you already have a trip planned that you would like to incorporate the Blue Bag program into, please contact the Wisconsin Chapter office at email@example.com and we can assist you with obtaining Blue Bags and also provide suggestions.
